Three Christmases ago, my building light string inexplicably went “Poof”, without the benefit of the customary magic blue smoke of all things electrical. Replacing bulbs (there are only ten), jiggling wires, liberal doses of magic blue language…all was for naught, leaving my Christmas village a dark and dreary place to behold for the next two Christmases.
Then, in what can only be described as that Biblical “still, small voice”, I was bid to try just one more time, on a socket I know I’ve tried many times before, and after we had already set up the tree, leaving any ability to really service it impossible.
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.—-(1Corinthians 3:18-20)
