HO scale Burro crane model from a 25 ton crane model…

I’ve always wanted a running model of a typical Burro crane, models of which are usually in brass and quite pricey. I’ll let the pictures do the explaining. It requires a Train Miniature 25 ton Brownhoist crane (later offered by both Life-Like and Cox) and the power truck from a Bachmann Cable Car.

Test run…amazingly, the flatcar outweighs the crane by a full ounce–1 1/2 oz. as compared to 2 1/2 oz.

Love your pictures of Krick Marine engine. I have a similar engine and the piston seals are leaking is it possible to replace the seals and if so where can they be found?

Your Burro crane looks great, and you surprised me further down the page when it actually runs well too!

The Walthers (ex-Train-Miniature) 25ton Brownhoist crane is slightly different than the Life-Like>Cox Browning crane that you used to such good result. I don’t know if it would have made a difference, as you chopped up and compressed yours magnificently.

Thank you for the kind words. It definitely needs the flatcar to run well as the boom makes it tippy…starts and stops can sometimes end up with it falling forward.
